1/15 ASKED ROXY: "Technology is an awesome thing. There's a lot of limitations in the world. How many people you can meet, what you can learn, what you're capable of doing. Technology allows people to overcome the limitations of their physical body. With technology, ya have the strength to lift literal tons. With technology, ya can talk to someone across the world, or even the galaxy depending on the universe. You can learn anything and everything with a good internet connection. Technology allows us to be better and do better and make things easier to reach that level.
As for me personally....
It saved my life.
Without technology, I would be a mute feral child with a one note obsession I followed forever. Learning to talk, learning to socialize, learning all the things I know. Meeting my friends, hell, saving lives. All of it is from technology. Hell, I'm still not sure if my powers are actual magic or just highly advanced science used in the ectobiology, The Game makes it really fuckin' vague.
I had to be real self dependent when I was young. If I didn't have tech, I probs wouldn't have made it as long as I did, certainly wouldn't be as capable as I am.
So technology makes everything better, easier, and saves lives."

Google lets you search it, and Wikipedia's like a huge online encyclopedia that everybody can contribute to. Pretty sure it's got just about everything."

Why should one dislike technology? I am a human, and as a human, most everything that I do is of a technological nature. If I were not to make use of technology, surely I would be nothing more than a beast, as I would not have garments nor a house to protect me from the elements, nor fire to cook food with. I would not have mats and blankets to sleep on, nor medicine to cure my maladies.
No, I would be less than a beast. Birds build nests, and beavers build dams. Even beasts use technology. So why should I hate something that is vital to my own existence?"
"Perhaps I should say, I have a favorable view of technology, in that it allows me to exist as the being that I am, but technological things are not inherently good themselves, simply in how their are used by a living being.

Erm. It's kind of hard, I guess, since I don't... remember a lot of it? Here in Kyriakos it doesn't feel so necessary a lot of the time, so I don't think about it too much. And when I do, it's... kind of with a feeling of irritation.
See, I quested for a TV for a while back, but... I didn't realize that my team's dorm didn't have outlets for it. My patron's too busy for me to be bothering her with such a silly request, so now I've had to take this quest so I can get a battery for it. And a friend of mine had to go on a quest for a charger for my phone for me, but--I can't even charge it unless I go to his dorm. So it's... kind of a nuisance, really.
... But I know back home it was an integral part of my life that made all kinds of things possible--talking with friends, recording precious memories, traveling places faster and more efficiently... I'm sure I'd be a very different person if I'd lived in a world without it. If it was just a bit easier to use here, I'd probably miss it and rely on it a lot more."

It's definitely important. When sufficiently advanced, it gives people an edge when it comes to developing and defending their country, culture, and way of life. It can be used for good or evil, but it is inherently neither.
So basically, I think technology is needed but should be handled with care, insight, and restraint."

A friend and I actually managed to get hold of some cellphones here … though we can only communicate with each other, so they're more like glorified walkie-talkies with text, camera, and video functions.

Well, let me preface, I'm talking about technology in general. AIs are a whole different subject. Just...for the record. [Shrugs.]
Technology is an important tool. The universe is big and full of so much new and old things, it's impossible for people from our small little planet to be ready for anything. Technology helps with that. Whether it's a threat or just trying to understand something new. Not to mention getting there.
It's an equalizer, a shield, a sword, a key. The greatest things mankind has managed was because of technology.
Plus it's really convenient and easier to get entertainment."
